Around The Grange
September 2025 News from North Stonington Grange

By Nancy R. Weissmuller

  SEPTEMBER 8, 2025 --

It is my sad duty to report we have lost a dear friend and good Granger.  Scott Bill Hirst, Past President and Golden Sheaf member passed away on June 29th, one day before his birthday.  Scott always presented the most interesting quizzes on various aspects of history, on which he was a master.  We mostly failed them because our knowledge of the subjects was definitely lacking; but they were fun.  Scott will be missed.

We had a very successful Fair in July.  Weather threatened but turned out to be find.  There were new and interesting things to see and do, with more promised for next year.  The Scottish Games are scheduled to take place on our grounds on the 26th and we have hopes that this will become an annual event.

It has been an interesting 2 years; but we have learned all we can learn about America’s wars.  This year’s programs will bring offerings from our members as well as Sue’s well-planned, interesting ideas.  Please come and join us.  The refreshments are always delicious and the company is warm and friendly.  And if cooler weather will just come to visit us, next time we will tell you all about awesome August.

Sept. 26:  Autumn and Other Things
